The Alpine Dancers are a performing and teaching folk dance group specializing in couples and trio dances from Austria and Germany. They perform throughout the greater Washington, DC (USA) area.

The Alpine Dancers were formally established as a performing group in 1991. The Alpine Dancers specialize in teaching and performing intricate figure dances from Austria and Germany. The current repertoire of a wide varity of dances -- from graceful to highly energetic -- is listed at Dance Repertoire. In addition to performing, another specialty of the Alpine Dancers is engaging audience participants, young and old, to join them in some of their dances.

The Alpine Dancers hold regular free and open practices, usually on second and fourth Sundays, 4:00-6:30 pm, at the New Carrollton Municipal Center (map) , 6016 Princess Garden Parkway, near Washington Beltway exit 20A. (Occasionally practice times and dates may change due to performances.) New dancers and musicians are always welcome.
