This evening lesson in Viennese Waltz is offered for beginners as well as for those interested in refreshing their waltz steps for the upcoming Western Civilization Ball. In addition, the Fledermaus Quadrille will be taught as it is danced at the balls in Vienna.
No prior dance experience required. Individuals and couples welcome. Dancers change partners frequently throughout lesson. Ample free parking. The class is taught by Herbert and Carol Traxler. Honored by the Republic of Austria with the Decoration of
Merit in Gold, the Traxlers have taught the Viennese Waltz to thousands of Washingtonians at such venues as the Austrian Embassy, Meridian House and the White House.

Alpine Dancers. The Alpine Dancers hold regular free and open practices at the New Carrollton Municipal Center, 6016 Princess Garden Parkway, near Washington Beltway exit 20A.
(Occasionally practice times and dates may change due to performances, which are listed at this site if they are open to the public.) New dancers and musicians are always welcome.
The Alpine Dancers are a performing and teaching folk dance group specializing in couples and trio dances from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. They perform throughout the greater Washington, DC (USA) area.

City Choir of Washington at St Thomas More Cathedral. "The City Choir of Washington will be part of their concert series and thrilled to be performing Durufle's Requiem, Lili Boulanger's Hymne au Soleil, Poulenc's Prayer of St Francis of Assisi (Movement III - men) and Poulenc's Litanies of the Black Virgin (women).
The program is delightful and a wonderful way to start your weekend. The Cathedral is conveniently located at the intersection of Route 50 & Glebe Road and about a 15-20 minute walk from the Ballston (Orange Line) Metro Stop. There will probably be a free will offering towards their concert program.
The Requiem is one of the most spectacular pieces in the world and will provide a few minutes of 'peace' in this busy world we occupy."
